I get so frustrated by people who think church has to be this quiet, polite, funeral-like experience. If you show any real, raw emotion for Jesus, they look at you like you’re crazy. King David had this exact problem. In 2 Samuel 6, he is bringing the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem. He is so overwhelmed with joy that he takes off his royal robes and starts violently dancing in the streets in just his linen undergarment. His wife Michal watched him from a window and "despised him in her heart" because he was acting undignified for a king. But David basically told her: "I will celebrate before the Lord, and I will become even more undignified than this!" God struck Michal with barrenness for her religious pride.
